A Meaningful Gathering within the Scope of Barrier-Free Vision
The Nursing Department, in collaboration with the Patika Community and the Disabled Student Unit, organized the “Barrier-Free Perspective” event as part of the May 10-16 Disability Awareness Week. The event was coordinated by Research Assistant Aslı Firdevs Hakan, Coordinator of the Disabled Student Unit.

As part of the program, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Koçancı and Lecturer Gülsiye Zeycan gave presentations focusing on social awareness, accessibility, and experiences related to disability. Discussions with participants emphasized the importance of empathy, inclusivity, and accessible living.

The event, which attracted significant student interest, highlighted the challenges faced by disabled individuals in daily life and emphasized the importance of increasing social awareness. At the end of the program, the speakers were thanked for their contributions, and it was stated that similar awareness-raising activities would continue.
